The project "Doing Research: Assessing Social Science Research Systems" is implemented in El Salvador by the Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development (FUSADES), with support from the Global Development Network (GDN). The evaluation of the social sciences in El Salvador has adapted the standard GDN methodology to evaluate the social research system in developing and transition countries, called “Doing Research Assessment” (DRA). The study constitutes the first experience that consolidates information and evaluates the available evidence on social research activities in the country. Its objective is to support the construction of a sustainable development agenda for El Salvador by strengthening the local social research system.
