It is essential to understand the difference between the concepts "digitalization" and "digital transformation". Digitalization involves the use of digital tools to change the format of some tasks, while digital transformation involves changing the way business operations, customer interaction, and decision-making are performed. With this study, within the framework of the "El Salvador: Businesswomen and Technology" project, it is expected to contribute with a diagnosis of the digital environment in El Salvador, as well as the situation and challenges of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) regarding their relationship with the digital economy.
